One former Lady Vol competed on opening day in the WNBA on Friday, tipping off the 2026 regular season.
Golden State (1-0) defeated Seattle (0-1), 91-80, at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington.
Former Lady Vol Jordan Horston, who missed the entire 2025 season due to injury, started and played 15 minutes for the Storm. She totaled four rebounds and one block. Horston did not convert four field goal attempts or two three-point attempts.
She was named to the 2023 WNBA All-Rookie Team and was the No. 9 overall selection in the 2023 WNBA draft.
Horston played for the Lady Vols from 2019-23. She was a two-time All-SEC First-team selection and a two-time Associated Press and WBCA All-America honorable mention.
Horston appeared in 114 games, including 91 starts, for the Lady Vols, recording 1,145 points, 731 rebounds, 455 assists, 109 blocks and 163 steals.
Horston went to Tennessee from Columbus Africentric Early College High School in Columbus, Ohio.
