Former Marquette guard Zaide Lowery will transfer to Dayton
Zaide Lowery has found a landing spot.
The 6-foot-5 guard, who left the Marquette men's basketball team in midseason, will transfer to Dayton, the Field of 68 reported April 18.
Lowery will have one season of eligibility remaining.
Lowery was the first commitment to MU's 2023 recruiting class. That group of prospects also included Tre Norman, Al Amadou and Caedin Hamilton. Only Hamilton remains at MU from that class.
Lowery played in 73 games over his three seasons at MU, averaging 3.6 points and 2.3 rebounds. He seemed poised for a breakout campaign as a junior, and he started the first nine games. But he struggled shooting, including 13 for 43 (30.2%) from 3-point range, and lost his starting spot to freshman Adrien Stevens.
Lowery came off the bench for two games then didn't appear at all against Georgetown on Dec. 17. He didn't travel with the team to Creighton on Dec. 20, then didn't return to the for the second semester.
Zaide Lowery left the Marquette men's basketball team midseason, though specific reasons were not detailed.
Zaide Lowery has one season of eligibility remaining after transferring to Dayton.

MU and Dayton played in a home-and-home series during Lowery's time in Milwaukee. Both were losses for the Golden Eagles, with Lowery scoring a combined 12 points in those games.
