Former Marseille winger Jonathan Rowe monitored by Premier League clubs
Former Olympique de Marseille player Jonathan Rowe (22) is reportedly being tracked by Premier League clubs ahead of the summer transfer window, according to L’Équipe.
Pushed out after coming to blows with his former teammate Adrien Rabiot (31) in the Rhoazon Park changing rooms following the match between Stade Rennais and OM (0-1) in August, the English winger has bounced back in Serie A. Signed by Bologna for €19.5 million at the end of the transfer window, he became the club’s most expensive signing in history.
And it was only after a settling-in period lasting several months that Rowe has now established himself on the left flank of Vincenzo Italiano’s 4-2-3-1 formation. Having scored four goals and provided two assists in his last six matches, the London-born player has seen a marked improvement in form since early March.
Enough to pique the interest of certain Premier League clubs, a league Rowe had a brief taste of with Norwich City during the 2021–22 season. Under contract with the Rossoblù until 2029, the 22-year-old could be a key figure in the upcoming summer transfer window, although his club are reportedly unwilling to let him go for less than around €50 million. This would work in Marseille’s favour, as they hold a 10% share of any future sale of the English player.
Specific Premier League clubs have not been named, but they are reportedly monitoring Jonathan Rowe as he impresses in Serie A.
