Conforto has a .984 OPS against right-handers thus far, making him a perfect platoon player or teams in need of a fourth outfielder.
"And though last season with the Dodgers was a disaster for him, there would be quite a bit of interest in Conforto as the LHB half of a corner outfield or DH platoon if the Cubs made him available right now," Miller added.
Unless Conforto starts tearing the cover off the ball against southpaws, this would be a win-win scenario for the Cubs instead of cutting ties with him for nothing.
The former All-Star should be able to net at least one veteran relief pitcher on an expiring contract.
