For the second year in a row, Will Wade has landed a transfer commitment from a Michigan State basketball starter. A year after he lured Tre Holloman to NC State, Wade is now at LSU, and on Thursday, he landed a commitment from MSU transfer Divine Ugochukwu. The news was first reported on X.com by CJ of TigerBat.com.
Ugochukwu transferred to Michigan State last year from Miami, where it was initially assumed he would back up Jeremy Fears Jr. at point guard. However, Ugochukwu's elite defense and surprisingly hot shooting led to him seizing control of the starting shooting guard position. Ugochukwu was shooting a red-hot 44 percent from three before he broke his foot in a road loss to Minnesota.
Ugochukwu was the only Spartan to enter the portal this offseason, shocking Michigan State fans with his entry on the last day the transfer portal window was open, and will now head to LSU to join Wade and his new team.
