Love was initially suspended with pay, but resigned from the team three months later, according to the AP.
The former coach initially denied having a sexual relationship with Scoggin after she filed the lawsuit in 2024, according to USA Today. Love's alleged admission came from the deposition earlier this year.
PEOPLE reached out to Loveâs attorney, Denise Frost, for comment but did not receive a response before the time of publication on Wednesday, April 29.
According to USA Today, Scoggin alleges in her civil lawsuit that she was groomed to have a sexual relationship with Love, whom she claims paid noticeable attention to her, frequently discussed sexual topics with her and invited her out for drinks.
Scoggin also says in her civil lawsuit she feared retaliation from the coach if she did not follow through with a sexual relationship, according to the AP.
Scogginâs lawsuit also names the head coach of Nebraska's women's basketball team, Amy Williams, former athletic director Trev Alberts and the universityâs board of regents, USA Today reported. She later named the schoolâs sport administrator Keith Zimmer and Title IX coordinator Meagan Counley in the lawsuit, per the outlet, alleging they mishandled her case.
There is currently no trial date set for the case, according to USA Today.
