A former Carolina Panthers running back has found himself a new home.
As announced on Monday, Ameer Abdullah has signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 32-year-old veteran spent one of his 10 NFL campaigns with Carolina.
That short tenure came in an 11-game stretch back in 2021, when the Panthers signed Abdullah after he was released by the Minnesota Vikings in late October. The speedy 5-foot-9, 203-pounder contributed through a handful of ways—rushing for 136 yards on 44 carries, posting a career-high 272 receiving yards on 35 catches and returning a team-leading 22 kickoffs at an average of 22.0 yards per attempt.
Abdullah, a second-round pick out of Nebraska from the 2015 NFL Draft, has now made stops for seven NFL squads—the Detroit Lions (2015 to 2018), Vikings (2018 to 2021), Panthers (2021), Las Vegas Raiders (2022 to 2024), San Francisco 49ers (2025), Indianapolis Colts (2025) and, now, the Jaguars.
