Former Real Madrid manager informs club of his desire to return for second spell – Romano

According to the latest update from Fabrizio Romano, it has come to light that Jose Mourinho has communicated his desire to return to Real Madrid in the summer.

It must be noted that Real Madrid are currently assessing the future of their managerial role, and while no final decision has been made, discussions are already underway regarding potential candidates.

Romano provided clarity on Mourinho’s intentions, explaining that the coach has been open about his ambition to get a second opportunity at the club. He stated,

“Real Madrid is already aware of Jose Mourinho’s desire to return.

“He has made it clear to those close to him that he would like a second chance at the club. Real Madrid will soon decide who their next manager will be,” said the journalist.

However, despite his interest, the situation is far from straightforward.

Why is that?

Within the club, Mourinho is not currently the leading candidate, as Real Madrid’s hierarchy reportedly favours other options, with Jurgen Klopp emerging as a preferred choice.

At the same time, Mauricio Pochettino remains under consideration, particularly given the long-standing admiration from club president Florentino Perez.
