Real Madrid’s ongoing search for a new manager ahead of next season continues to dominate headlines, but not everyone is convinced by one of the most talked-about names.
Former midfielder Alvaro Benito has now weighed in on the situation, offering a strong and clear opinion on the possibility of Jurgen Klopp taking over at the Santiago Bernabeu.
With uncertainty surrounding the future of Alvaro Arbeloa, Real Madrid are widely expected to appoint a new head coach.
As a result, speculation has intensified, with multiple names being linked to the role. Among them, Klopp has emerged as a recurring candidate, largely due to his proven track record and distinctive playing philosophy.
However, Benito does not see this move materialising.
Speaking during a recent broadcast of Real Madrid’s clash against Alaves, he made his position clear while analysing the situation and what it would mean tactically for the club.
Benito acknowledged the appeal of the German’s style and why fans might be drawn to the idea.
“In terms of style, I’d love to see Klopp, of course, but the fact is that Klopp isn’t coming here. He needs the right tools for his style of play,” he began.
Alvaro Benito has expressed strong opinions against Jurgen Klopp's suitability for the managerial role at Real Madrid, citing specific concerns about his fit for the club.
Real Madrid is actively searching for a new head coach as they prepare for the next season, with various candidates being considered.

Benito then provided deeper insight into Klopp’s methods, explaining why his approach might not align with Real Madrid’s current structure.
He highlighted how Klopp’s philosophy often demands time, adaptation, and physical intensity – factors that do not always suit a club expected to win immediately.
“Many years ago, I heard him say once that his first year with a team isn’t usually a good one.
“Because he raises the bar so high in training to match his style of play that many players get injured, others fall behind.
“He already figures out which ones are a good fit for his system for the following season, which is when they really start to take off.”
He further backed his argument by referencing the context of managerial changes and tactical identity within the club.
“The issue here is that Xabi Alonso came in, and Madrid was far from what he wanted in terms of football.
And if Klopp comes, it’s to coach the way he usually does—why would you bring in a specific coach if you’re not going to let him coach?” Benito concluded.
