The debate surrounding the Real Madrid bench is growing louder, and one name is clearly at the centre of it: Jose Mourinho.
Right now, the Portuguese coach is leading the shortlist of candidates, with some reports even going as far as suggesting that an agreement between the two parties may also have been reached.
Now, former Real Madrid player Wesley Sneijder believes the Portuguese coach is the perfect man for the job as he has the experience needed to manage personalities such as Vinicius Jr. and Kylian Mbappe.
“I was with him for only a year, but in that year the experience I gained from this man was incredible. He used to talk about how to manage a team, and that’s his main quality,” Sneijder said in an interview, as quoted by MARCA.
Highlighting Mourinho’s quality, the Dutchman added: “He knows exactly how to manage all the players , because it’s easy to manage the first 11. Every coach in the world can do that. But it’s not just about those 11 players.
“There are more footballers on the bench or even not in the squad. Squads are getting bigger, and the number of players keeps growing. Before, we might have had 23 players in the squad. Now it’s up to 30, and you need to manage all of them too.”
Wesley Sneijder believes Jose Mourinho is the 'ideal person for that role' as the team's coach.
Some reports indicate that an agreement between Jose Mourinho and Real Madrid may have already been reached.

In Sneijder’s opinion, Mourinho is unquestionably the best option for the current situation at Real Madrid.
“Real Madrid are one of the teams that needs a great coach, but also a manager capable of controlling incredible players with very strong personalities,” stated Sneijder.
“I think he’s the ideal person for that role right now, and they need to sign him. If they sign him, it will be a very good decision.”
Sneijder also criticised the recent campaign from some supporters calling for Mbappe to leave the club.
“Some people probably don’t even know what they’re signing. But in the end, he was also really important for the team,” Sneijder said.
“He scored a lot of goals, and there was a period when he was carrying Real Madrid when there were injuries and problems with Vinícius Jr; for example, he was always there.”
However, the former midfielder did not hold back when discussing some of Mbappé’s decisions this season.
“There were decisions like going on vacation instead of staying with the team. That’s not right, especially when Barcelona could clinch the title in El Clasico. That really hurts the fans. You need to be with the team,” he concluded.
