Former Tennessee basketball forward Jaylen Carey has committed to Missouri after transferring from Vanderbilt. He previously played at James Madison and has averaged between seven to eight points and around five to six rebounds per game throughout his college career.
Former Tennessee forward Jaylen Carey committed to Missouri, according to Joe Tipton of On3.
The 6-foot-8, 267-pound forward began his college basketball career at James Madison in 2023. He appeared in 36 games for the Dukes and averaged seven points, 4.3 rebounds and 14.9 minutes per game.
Carey transferred to Vanderbilt and played for his former James Madison head coach Mark Byington in 2024. In one season with the Commodores, he averaged eight points, 5.7 rebounds and 20.2 minutes per game.
Carey appeared in 37 games, including eight starts, at Tennessee during the 2025-26 season. He averaged 7.4 points and six rebounds per contest.
Three transfers have committed to Tennessee following the 2025-26 season: Belmont guard Tyler Lundblade, California guard Dai Dai Ames and Loyola Chicago forward Miles Rubin.
