Donovan Williams Jr. has switched his commitment from UCF to Georgia Bulldogs basketball. The 6-foot-3 guard is ranked as the No. 25 guard in the class of 2026 and aims to make an impact in Georgia's backcourt next season.
Former UCF Knights guard Donovan Williams Jr. has flipped his commitment to the Georgia Bulldogs, per Dawgs247. Williams signed with the Knights in November, and the talented recruit will now look to shine in Georgia’s backcourt next season.
Williams originally committed to UCF in October prior to flipping his commitment to Georgia. At 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, Williams chose the Knights over Arizona State, Illinois, and USF, but the guard ultimately decided Georgia would be the best fit throughout his freshman campaign. Williams has flashed his potential on numerous occasions on the high school level, as the guard split the first two seasons of his high school career at both Edgewater High and The First Academy, followed by two years at Oak Hill Academy in Virginia.
Williams is ranked as the No. 25 guard and the No. 220 overall player from the class of 2026, per the 247Sports Rankings. He is listed as the No. 30 player out of Florida, and Williams finds himself with an excellent opportunity to thrive in Athens next season following a plethora of key departures in Georgia’s backcourt. Williams had an extremely strong performance throughout the Nike EYBL circuit as well, where he averaged 17.4 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game.
Williams is the third player that has committed to Georgia from the class of 2026 recently. The Dawgs landed a commitment from NBA Academy Africa center David Ugonna, as Georgia continues to reshape the roster following a multitude of changes throughout the offseason.
Georgia basketball now has three commitments in the class of 2026. The Bulldogs also have a commitment from three-star center Hakeem Weems. Georgia has the nation's No. 63 recruiting class and the No. 46 incoming transfer class.
