On Monday, David Schoenfield of ESPN released a list of one early potential trade candidate for each MLB team. He listed former Vol Andrew Fischer as a trade candidate for Milwaukee.
“The Brewers are in position to do pretty much what they want at the trade deadline, thanks to a deep farm system full of both position players and pitchers,” Schoenfield said. “Fischer was the Brewers' first-round pick last June out of Tennessee. They're playing him at third base in the minors, although he mostly played first for the Vols.
“Though his bat has potential, he has other infield prospects ahead of him, including Cooper Pratt (who just signed an eight-year, $50 million contract), Jesus Made (the preseason No. 3 overall prospect), Jett Williams and Luis Pena. First baseman Blake Burke is also off to a big start at Double-A. The Brewers are getting little offense at either third or shortstop, although Made is hitting well in Double-A and could be rushed to the majors in the second half.”

Fischer played one season at Tennessee in 2025. He appeared in all 65 games for the Vols, including 65 starts.
Fischer recorded a .341 batting average, 25 home runs, 65 RBIs, 70 runs, 74 hits, 16 doubles, 63 walks, four sacrifice flies, four stolen bases, 165 total bases, .760 slugging percentage, .497 on base percentage, 42 strikeouts and was hit by a pitch eight times in 217 at bats.
Andrew Fischer is a former Vols player and a first-round pick for the Milwaukee Brewers, currently playing third base in the minors, making him a potential trade candidate due to the team's depth in infield prospects.
The MLB trade deadline for the 2026 season is scheduled for August 3 at 6 p.m. EDT.
Fischer faces competition from several infield prospects ahead of him, including Cooper Pratt and Jesus Made, which may limit his immediate advancement to the majors.
