WTA Former World No. 1 and beloved Australian tennis player Ash Barty turned 30 last week. It seems like ages ago that Barty walked away from the game playing at her peak.
In 2022, Barty, then 25, won her home slam, the Australian Open, and retired weeks later. Since then, she gave birth to two children, son Hayden, 2, and daughter Jordan, 11 months, to husband Garry Kissick.
Barty recently attended the Bonsoy Gold Coast Pro (World Surfing Championships) in Queensland. She was asked if a tennis comeback is in the works.

Barty shut down the question with a quick reply of “no chance.”
It is a valid question because Barty took a break from tennis once before in 2015 to embark on a professional cricket career before returning in 2016.
The difference is that she accomplished everything she wanted to in her second tennis era from 2016-2022 and is pretty busy as a mother of two kids under the age of three.
Barty is a three-time singles Grand Slam champion (2019 French Open, 2021 Wimbledon, and 2022 Australian Open), 2018 US Open doubles champion (with CoCo Vandeweghe), 2019 WTA Finals champion, and 2020 Tokyo Olympics mixed doubles bronze medalist (with John Peers).

Barty does not have to return to tennis to prove anything because she is an Aussie legend.
Winning the Australian Open in 2022, 50 years after her idol Evonne Goolagong Cawley did it, was icing on the cake for Barty.
One of the most heartwarming moments of the 2022 Australian Open was Goolagong Cawley surprising Barty by presenting her the trophy.
Ash Barty has not confirmed any plans for a tennis comeback.
Before retiring, Ash Barty won the Australian Open in 2022 and was ranked World No. 1.
