FROSTBURG โ Fort Hill's seven-run first inning led the Sentinels (9-7-1, 4-3 Western Maryland Athletic Conference) to an 8-0 win over Mountain Ridge on Monday.
In the first, Fort Hill scored on a Liam Hamilton single, Bobby Brauer double, two walks and an error.
Colt Resh led the Sentinels with three hits while Brauer, Coye Resh and Liam Hamilton each had two.
Colt Resh tossed five shutout innings, allowing a hit and a walk with two strikeouts.
John Delaney had the lone hit for the Miners (4-12, 2-5 WestMAC).
He took the loss, allowing three earned runs with five strikeouts across three innings.
Fort Hill plays at Keyser on Tuesday before hosting No. 4 Allegany (9-6, 4-2 WestMAC) on Friday at 4:30 p.m.

ACCIDENT โ Jacob Chambers was two outs shy of a complete game shutout, leading Northern over Hancock on Monday.
Chambers only allowed two hits with no walks and seven strikeouts for the Huskies (10-5).
Six Northern batters recorded a hit with Elliott Meyers-Shirer and Bailey Turner each driving in two runs.
Meyers-Shirer's hit was an RBI double in the fifth and he added a stolen base in the third.

INWOOD, W.Va. โ Musselman's Carter Fisher won Monday's pitchers duel over Hampshire's Landin Ludwick.
Fisher went the distance, allowing two hits and a walk with seven strikeouts.
Ludwick tossed 4 2/3 shutout innings in relief, allowing a hit and two walks with four punchouts for the Trojans (11-6).
The game's only run came in the first inning on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Nicky Zimmerman.

KINGWOOD, W.Va. โ Tied at 1 after seven innings, Keyser scored two runs in the eighth to defeat Preston on Monday.
Wes Hahn put the Golden Tornado (6-12) ahead in the top of the eighth on a double to right.
Two batters later, Cam Larkin doubled to left to extend Keyser's lead to 3-1.
Hahn opened the scoring in the sixth on a single to right.
Bryson McNew answered with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth for the Knights.
Lucas Williamson led Keyser with three hits.
Zeke Eye tossed six frames of one-run ball, allowing a hit and three walks with a strikeouts.
