Freddie Dilione V transfers back to the SEC, joining the Georgia Bulldogs after a successful stint with Penn State. He averaged 14 points per game in his last season and aims to enhance Georgia's performance in the upcoming season.
After spending the first half of his collegiate career in the SEC, Freddie Dilione V has decided to transfer back into the conference, this time with the Georgia Bulldogs. Dilione had spent the first season of his career with Tennessee before making his name as more of a breakout star with the Nittany Lions.
Penn State, while having successfully replaced Dilione as well as Kayden Mingo, the former four star guard who also shined for the team last year, will dearly miss Dilione's production. After redshirting with the Volunteers, Dilione got vital playing time in his redshirt freshman season, playing in 18 games. However, it was his redshirt sophomore season that saw Dilione become the well rounded player the Nittany Lions got in Happy Valley. He scored 291 total points, averaging 9.4 points per game.
In his junior season with Penn State, Dilione grew into his own, shooting 47.3 from the field, upping his average to 14 points per game, leading the Nittany Lions in that category. Now however, he will be looking to end off his collegiate career in Athens as one of several senior guards. He will join both Blue Cain and Marcus Millender guards who will be playing in their final seasons amidst an eight man rotation for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs will be looking to improve upon their first round exit in the NCAA tournament at the hands of the St. Louis Billikens.
