The events will feature match viewings, cultural programming and public gatherings tied to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, aimed at making the tournament accessible to residents citywide.
The state is providing $20 million to support World Cup-related activities in New York City. Officials said the effort is designed to boost small businesses and ensure broad public access to the global event.
Officials also announced large public viewing events on Long Island and in the Hudson Valley, along with watch parties in Buffalo at Silo City and Canalside.
The state will allow bars and restaurants to apply for special one-day permits to host off-site World Cup events and may expand operating hours during live match broadcasts.
Officials said the broader initiative aims to expand access, support local economies and ensure communities statewide can participate in World Cup celebrations.
