Aaron Rodgers remains unsigned after his visit to Pittsburgh without meeting the Steelers. NFL releases international schedule.
Coleman Elkins, a 6-10 center from New Jersey, is the final addition to Texas' 2026 recruiting class. Although unranked by 247Sports, he is a three-star recruit according to Rivals and ESPN.
Our fresh faces series has come to an end, for now at least. Coleman Elkins, the final addition to the 2026 recruiting class will round out the freshmen joining Sean Miller’s squad. The 6-10 center from Blairstown, New Jersey brings an interesting skillset and great size to the table.
Elkins was unranked by 247Sports but does check in as a three-star according to Rivals and ESPN. His offer list prior to Texas showing interest was not overly extensive, including teams like Indiana State and Lehigh. Texas swooped in late in the process with an offer and locked down a commitment.
Elkins, as you can imagine, is very unlikely to factor into the rotation this season. However, if he can learn from Matas Vokietaitis and develop throughout his freshman year, he could be a factor in 2027-28. His length and upside shooting makes him well worth the spot and could be Sean Miller’s first true developmental big man. To me, Elkins is someone I’d bet on long term becoming a contributor for the Longhorns.
“Fresh Faces on the Forty” has come to an end, for now. There is a very solid chance Sean Miller will be adding one or two more transfers at some point to finish out the roster. The Dailyn Swain decision was likely making them hold off but it seems he’ll move forward with the NBA Draft. That means there are spots to fill and we will be back when they are made.
For now, Miller has put together a remarkable group of additions, both through the portal and high school. The Longhorns have set themselves up for a special season if they can finish out the roster strong.
