The No. 2 player in the state of Texas comes into Austin with ties to the school. His older brother is Trevor Goosby, the star OT and future first round pick for Steve Sarkisianās squad. Austin could very well be the next Goosby to cement a special legacy at Texas, starting his freshman year. He could fit into the starting five next to Isaiah Johnson considering the elite scoring ability that duo brings.
Goosby becomes the first McDonaldās All-American joining the Longhorns since Tre Johnson in 2024 and the fifth since 2020. His high school career at Dynamic Prep allowed him to play at a number of other elite high schools, along with his EYBL career. That should make the transition to the next level easier, especially with how heās performed in the elite showcases around the country.
There have been a number of fantastic additions to Sean Millerās squad this offseason. None might be more impressive than Goosby. He could become the next in a long line of Sean Miller draft picks this time next year. However for now, itās about what he can bring to the Longhorns and it seems to be a whole lot. Tomorrow, weāll talk about Bo Ogden, another recruit that could bring true outside sharpshooting to the table immediately.
