Exeter High School softball team defeated Winnacunnet 5-4 in a close match on May 8, with Landyn Theberge striking out the final batter. Exeter's record improved to 4-6, while Winnacunnet fell to 6-5.
EXETER - With the tying run on second base with two outs in the seventh inning, Landyn Theberge struck out her third batter of the inning as the Exeter High School softball team held on for a 5-4 win over rival Winnacunnet on Friday, May 8.
Exeter improved to 4-6 on the season, while Winnacunnet is 6-5.

Jill Ryan led Exeter with three hits and two RBIs, while Lily Lord and Lane Ruffner both had an RBI for the Blue Hawks. Maddy Mann added two hits and scored two runs in the win. Lilah Smalley's sacrifice fly in the sixth gave Exeter a 5-3 lead.
For Winnacunnet, senior Hayren Reynoso hit a solo homer, and Celina King and Maeva Shapiro both had two hits, and Fenway Schouller had a double.

DURHAM - The Bobcats sprayed 14 hits across the field, improving to 10-1 with this Division II win.
Laura Boughton had three hits, including two doubles, and three RBIs for the Bobcats, while Kate Michaud blasted two homers and drove in three. Teammates Kaiya Mercier and Payton Drapeau both had two hits.
Oyster River's Sam Bishop allowed one earned run over five innings, striking out five, and Clare Dimke pitched a final scoreless inning.

HOPKINTON - The Saints scored one run in the first inning, six in the second, and eight in the fourth as they improved to 6-2 with this Division III win.
Sophomore Hailey Anzmann allowed two hits and struck out four over five innings. She also had three hits and drove in one.
Mattie Williams had two hits, drove in one, and scored three runs, while Olivia Semprini (two hits, RBI, run), Mollie Gaynor (two hits, two RBIs, two runs), Bizzie Pelletier (two hits, two RBIs, run), Kaity Kelly (hit), Mallory Enman (hit), and Maddie Hamilton (hit) led the offense.

Portsmouth's Theo Levine had three hits, an RBI, and three runs scored, while Max Herter and Jackson Hooper both had one hit and three RBIs. Teammates Liam Belden (hit, two RBIs) and Aidan Linchey (first varsity led) contributed.

NORTH CONWAY - Conall Ciaschini allowed two hits over four scoreless innings, striking out four and leading St. Thomas Aquinas to this Division II win.
Brandon Skowron and Camden Stowell both had two RBIs for the Saints, while Finn Perry, Ryan Gould, and Gabe Carlisle all had one. Gould and Ciaschini both had two hits. Ciaschini and Aaron Hughes both scored three runs in the win, and Kenny Avery and Skowron both scored two.

Addie Delisle added one goal and three assists for the Clippers, while Georgia Bouvier (goal, assist), Ava Barrows (goal), Maddy Houghton (goal), Liv Russo (assist) and Sage Bussiere (assist) all figured in the scoring.
Bussiere (two) and Breleigh Vischer (three) combined for five saves in the Portsmouth net.

EXETER - Sophomore Riley Benevides had six goals and reached 100 career points in this Division I win for the Blue Hawks.
Phoebe Christenson had three goals and one assist for Exeter, and Evie Lafreniere and Claire Wilhelm both had two goals. Grace McIlRoyal added one goal and two assists in the win, and Josie Drunsic, Avery Carrigan and Racquel Battle all had one goal, and Brooke Battle had one assist.
Exeter goalies Molly Byrne and Maggie Lilly both had two saves.

DOVER - Charlotte De Tolla had five goals, Talula Gregg had four, and Julia Bryan three for St. Thomas (7-2) in its Division III win.
Annita Parmelee and Charlotte Kelly both had two goals for the Saints, and Izzy Taylor, Lena Shaheen and Kate Kreycik all had one. STA goalie Reese Foss had four saves.

SANFORD, Maine - Maddy Poitras led Marshwood (4-2) with six goals and six assists in this Class A win.
Maeve Long added three goals for the Hawks, while Tiegan Boisvert (two goals, four assists), Ella Yakota (two goals, two assists), Jolie Folger (two goals, one assist), Estella Fogg (goal, assist), Brooklyn Smith (goal), and Lexi Coleman (goal) all figured in the scoring.
Marshwood goalie Leigh Twohig had four saves, and Ellie Adams had one. Esme Gori, Hope Walker, Amelia Webber, Lily Allis, Alexa Glennon and Lilla Etter all played strong defensively.

Chase Eberhardt added three goals and one assist for the Clippers, and Cortland Barr had one goal and two assists.
Teammates Sam Biddle, Miles Parker, Trevor Sifferlen and Nash Conklin all had one goal and one assist, Max Deneen had one goal, and Max Russman had one assist.
Portsmouth goalie AJ Craig had nine saves, and Biddle was also 13-for-14 on faceoffs. Defensively, Cote Bellaud, Andy Brown and Luke Brandt shined.

Spencer Zigler added two goals and one assist for the Warriors, and Alec Mitchell had two goals. Teammates Burke Spalding (goal, assist), Liam McNally (goal), Michael Bramhall (goal), and Anthony Magri (goal) all figured in the scoring.
Defensively, Evan Stamper, Jax Masse, Brock Emery, and Junior Paschal all starred in front of goalie Joel Williams.

Rhys Sullivan went 11-for-11 on faceoffs, and Gavin Canty had a team-high five caused turnovers.
