"It was great, a great at-bat," Exeter head coach Kristen Morissette said. "She got down two strikes and battled back and just got the right pitch."
Ryan struck out in her previous at-bat.
"I think she was a little upset with herself, because she was the starting pitcher, and wanted to help her herself out," Morissette said. "And, for her to come back and get that homer, she was excited."
Morissette thought Ryan got enough of the ball when it left her bat.
"I felt like it had enough, but I wasn't sure at first," Morissette said. "Once it went over, I think it was really a relief for everyone because we had a tough loss on Tuesday."
Ryan was "all smiles" when she rounded second base and head toward Morissette in the third base coach's box.
"She was pretty excited that she could help the team get that first win, especially in walk-off fashion," Morissette said. "It was just incredible. It was awesome."
