Florida State has added a familiar face to its rapidly rebuilding roster. Missouri transfer guard Anthony Robinson II has committed to the Seminoles, per On3's Joe Tipton, completing a homecoming three years in the making for one of Tallahassee's own.
Robinson, a 6-foot-3 guard out of Tallahassee, averaged 8.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game during the 2025-26 season and earned SEC All-Defensive Team honors the year prior during his sophomore campaign. Over three seasons in Columbia, he appeared in 96 games with 50 starts and accumulated 156 career steals — a figure that underscores just how disruptive he has been defensively throughout his college career.
Robinson attended Florida State University High School, where he averaged 18.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game as a senior before choosing Missouri over Florida State, Auburn, and others in the 2023 recruiting cycle. He was the nation's No. 26 point guard and No. 150 overall prospect in that class, according to the 247Sports composite. Now, after three seasons in the SEC, Robinson returns to the city where he grew up, this time suiting up for the Seminoles.
Robinson's resume carries real weight. As a sophomore, he became just the second player in Missouri program history to earn SEC All-Defensive Team honors, a distinction that speaks to the kind of impact he made in one of college basketball's premier conferences. He closed his Missouri tenure on a high note, however, contributing 11 critical points in the Tigers' NCAA Tournament first round game against Miami.
Florida State had a Zoom call with Robinson before scheduling an official in-person visit to Tallahassee, as Loucks' staff moved quickly to identify and close on top portal targets. Robinson arrives with one year of eligibility remaining, giving the Seminoles a battle-tested, high-character SEC veteran who knows what it takes to compete at the highest level of college basketball.
For a Loucks program that has prioritized perimeter defense and backcourt versatility in its roster construction, Robinson checks every box. His combination of on-ball tenacity, playmaking ability, and familiarity with the Tallahassee community makes him one of the most natural fits in this entire portal cycle, and one of the most meaningful additions of the offseason.
Robinson is ranked as the No. 108 overall player and No. 22 point guard in the transfer portal by 247Sports. He is the third transfer that Loucks has landed, joining four-star shooting guard Kameron Taylor and four-star small forward Shon Abaev.
