Florida State is aggressively pursuing four-star safety Jenard Albright, who is currently committed to South Carolina. Albright has visited FSU multiple times and remains a top priority for the Seminoles.
Mentioned in this story
Florida State hosted four-star 2027 safety Jenard Albright back in September for an unofficial visit, and he left with an offer from the program. Last October, he took another unofficial visit to Tallahassee.
That didn't stop the 6-foot-2, 205-pounder from committing to South Carolina on Christmas Day. However, the Seminoles have continued their pursuit of Albright, and they've become a major contender to flip him from the Gamecocks, per Chad Simmons of Rivals.
Florida State has been consistent in its approach, building relationships and making Albright a priority — and that has his full attention heading into the summer. The connection dates back to last season, when Albright visited Tallahassee for the Miami game prior to his commitment, giving him early familiarity with the program.
Albright starred at Effingham County High School in Georgia for three years. For his senior campaign, Albright will play at St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland.
Before he departed from the Peach State, Albright had a strong junior year. He played in nine games and tallied 50 tackles, two interceptions, and three pass breakups. Albright also played some wide receiver at Effingham High School.
Rivals' industry rankings have Albright deemed as the No. 176 overall recruit and the nation's No. 12 safety. He's also the No. 5 prospect in the state of Maryland.
FSU will host Albright for an official visit on June 12. A week later, he'll take an official visit to South Carolina.
