For the second year in a row, John Spytek traded back at the top of the second round. Granted, this yearâs move wasnât nearly as significant, sliding back just two draft spots. That allowed the Raiders to bolster their defensive backfield with Treydan Stukes and then pick up an additional third-round pick to reinforce the offensive line with Trey Zuhn III. Sandwiched in the middle of those two was a high upside pass-rusher, Keyron Crawford.
The trades didnât stop on the final day of the draft, as Spytek made a deal before Saturdayâs action got started to bat leadoff in the fourth round. That resulted in what could be the best value pick of the entire weekend, snagging a first-round talent, Jermod McCoy. Additionally, another trade was made to get a running mate for Ashton Jeanty, and Tyree Wilson and Las Vegasâ seventh-round pick were sent to the New Orleans Saints for another fifth-rounder to take another former Arizona defensive back. Then, it was the fourth defensive back in the teamâs first eight picks, before wrapping up the draft by finally adding a defensive tackle.
