The brothers recently impressed with the Ecuador u17s at the South American u17 Championship, with Holger making four starts and Edwin two.
Holger scored in the opening 2-1 win over Paraguay, and won a free-kick (taken by Edwin) leading to the other goal. Holger then provided an assist for the winner in the third group match against Uruguay, before Edwin scored an excellent goal in the final group game against Chile.
Though Holger scored another goal against Argentina in the semi-finals, their opponents struck late to win 3-1 and eliminate Ecuador. Regardless, it was a strong showing overall.
