On Saturday night (9), Brazil’s Women’s U-17 National Team defeated Argentina 3-2 and won the South American title. Forward Sofia Gamonal opened the scoring in the match played at Defensores del Chaco Stadium in Asunción (PAR). In addition to her, Helena and Nicolly scored Brazil’s goals. Another standout for the Canarinho was goalkeeper Nathy, who contributed to the team in every match of the continental tournament.

“I’m very happy to have helped the team in such an important match. It was a game with ups and downs; in the end, we had to play in a way that wasn’t the best, but we kept trying until the end. We played the game we needed to play,” said Gamonal.
“It’s an indescribable feeling. I’m very happy to be able to represent this great nation once again; I have no words to express my gratitude. It was God who put me here and helped me until the very last minute, and I’m very grateful. It feels so good to be Brazilian,” said Nathy.

It is worth noting that both players won the 2025 U-15 Liga Evolución with the Brazilian National Team. On that occasion, Brazil drew 0-0 with Argentina in the final and won 4-1 on penalties.
