As George Kittle revealed on X, his wife woke him at 4 a.m. after finding a large spider in the bathroom.
āAt 4 am this morning, as I laid in a deep slumber, I was called to action by my wife who had discovered a spider the size of a half dollar in the bathroom. Without hesitation, I arose to combat the intruder.
āClaire handed me the slant board Iāve been using for rehab, and I immediately knew the spider had no chance. It took but 1 attempt to strike down my opponent,ā Kittle wrote.
He added, āI received hugs and kisses for my bravery and fell back asleep with confidence. Have a day gentlemen.ā
The detail that made the story perfect was the slant board. Kittle has been using it as part of his rehab work, but in that moment it became his emergency tool of choice.
That is why the post spread so quickly. Kittle took a simple spider story and told it like a warrior returning from battle.

The timing made the post even funnier because Kittle is still rehabbing from the torn Achilles he suffered during San Franciscoās playoff win over the Philadelphia Eagles in January.
The injury was serious, but updates around Kittleās recovery have been encouraging. He previously said his rehab was going well, and 49ers general manager John Lynch has even left open the possibility that he could be ready around the start of the 2026 season.
Achilles rehab can be slow and frustrating, especially for a tight end whose game depends on blocking, cutting, leverage, and physical contact.
But Kittleās personality has always been part of his appeal. Even while sidelined, he found a way to turn a 4 a.m. bathroom rescue into 49ers offseason entertainment.
San Francisco still needs him healthy for the season. Until then, Kittle is apparently undefeated against spiders.
