Georgia Bulldogs basketball guard Blue Cain will return to Athens for his final year of eligibility. Cain played a critical role in the Dawgs’ backcourt this season, as the talented guard’s return is a massive win for Georgia.
Cain was excellent throughout his junior campaign at Georgia last season. The star guard averaged 13.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game, as Cain was extremely productive while playing a career high 27.8 minutes per game. The talented guard will continue to try to improve as he has done every season in his college career.
Cain could have larger role throughout his senior season following the departure of a plethora of guards. Cain could become a top guard in the SEC during the 2026-27 campaign.

Cain was ranked as the No. 10 shooting guard and the No. 72 overall player from the class of 2024, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. He was ranked as the No. 8 player out of Florida. Georgia originally landed a commitment from the guard in Oct. 2023. Cain found himself having a breakout campaign during the 2025-26, and the Georgia star will look to play at an even higher level in Athens next season. He is looking to make a third straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
Georgia has lost some of its top overall talent to the transfer portal this offseason. Star guard Jeremiah Wilkinson recently announced his entry into the transfer portal, while elite big man Somto Cyril has committed to Miami. The Bulldogs have not added any notable transfers yet.
