Georgia Bulldogs basketball forward Dylan James is transferring to the George Washington Revolutionaries. James joins a George Washington program that finished eighth in the Atlantic 10 during the 2025-26 college basketball season. The Revolutionaries went 19-16 (8-10 Atlantic 10) and lost in the second round of the National Invitational Tournament (NIT).
James is ranked as a three-star transfer. The 6-foot-9 forward will provide a steadying defensive presence for George Washington and will likely have an expanded role with the Revolutionaries. 247Sports ranks James as the No. 251 transfer in the country and the No. 50 power forward.
James is coming off a 2025-26 season where he helped Georgia make a second straight March Madness appearance. The Bulldogs lost to Saint Louis in the NCAA Tournament in disappointing fashion. James averaged a career-best 4.5 points and 3.8 rebounds per game during his junior season.

James is a former top-100 recruit and has one year of eligibility left. He appeared in 33 games, including two starts, during Georgia's 2025-26 season. He was a key part of Georgia's rotation and averaged 15.0 minutes per game. James hit just one three-pointer all season.
James joins Georgia transfers Somto Cyril (Miami), Jeremiah Wilkinson (Arkansas) and Jake Wilkins (Cal) in finding new college basketball homes this offseason. Four other Georgia players remain in the portal.
Dylan James averaged 4.5 points and 3.8 rebounds per game during his junior season at Georgia.
George Washington finished eighth in the Atlantic 10 with a record of 19-16 and an 8-10 conference record.
Dylan James is ranked as the No. 251 transfer in the country and the No. 50 power forward according to 247Sports.
