Inter Milan have made their stance on Hakan Calhanoglu clear, with the club determined to keep the midfielder at all costs this summer.
Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio revealed, via FCInter1908, that both Cristian Chivu and the Inter hierarchy have placed a firm veto on any potential sale.
The decision reflects the player’s importance at the heart of the team.
“Calhanoglu will stay in Italy next season,” Di Marzio explained. “It won’t be a summer of rumours, doubts or possible requests.”
Inter are prepared to go even further to secure his future.
“There is an absolute veto from Chivu and the club, even at the risk of letting his contract run down without an immediate renewal,” he added.
The Nerazzurri could still open talks over a new deal later in the window. However, that situation will not affect their short-term plans.
“Then at the end of the transfer window they might find an agreement for a renewal,” Di Marzio continued.
“But regardless of that, Inter and will continue together for at least another season.”
