Odell Beckham Jr. didn't play a snap in the NFL in 2025, but he still wants a shot to play in the 2026 season.
He's been getting reported interest from his former team, the New York Giants, which would make for a fun reunion.
It just might not actually be as fun as fans want to think it would be.
In a new article, Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer warns against thinking too energetically about any potential OBJ production in 2026.
"Beckham is one of these guys that I believe fans see as forever young, maybe mostly because of his spirit, the potential he once had and the style of play that looked a little different back when he wasyoung compared to anything weâd ever seen," Breer writes. "No one should confuse that with Beckham actually being some sort of prospect."

While there is reported interest from the Giants, experts caution that a reunion may not be advantageous for either party.
Odell Beckham Jr. did not play in the NFL in 2025, but he is still eager to return for the 2026 season.
Experts suggest that while a reunion could be exciting, it may not yield the positive results fans expect for the Giants.

Breer then rattled off some very notable bullet points:
⢠Beckham is heading into what would be his 13th NFL season, had he not sat out the 2022 and â25 seasons.
⢠Beckham will turn 34 in November.
⢠His last 1,000-yard season came in his first season with the Browns in 2019. It was also the last time he even had 600 yards in a season.
⢠The last time he had even 20 receiving yards in a gamewas in December 2023.
Beckham has played for new Giants head coach John Harbaugh before, when both were with the Baltimore Ravens.
There certainly could be value to having someone with Beckham's experience in a WR room with some young talent.
But still, this wouldn't necessarily be a maneuver that's actually all that exciting. OBJ isn't the player he once was.
"Let's not turn it into something it's not," Breer writes.
Instead, the Giants need to just evaluate whether Beckham makes their team better. It's that simple.
