New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers underwent a second procedure on his right knee earlier this offseason as part of his recovery from a major injury suffered during the 2025 season. According to reports, the surgery was considered a minor “cleanup” procedure to remove scar tissue that had developed and caused stiffness in the knee. Sources indicated the procedure took place several weeks ago and is not expected to impact his projected recovery timeline.

The additional surgery comes after Nabers suffered a torn ACL and torn meniscus during Week 4 last season, an injury that abruptly ended what had been another promising year for the young receiver. Nabers initially underwent reconstructive surgery on Oct. 28 to repair the damage and begin the lengthy rehabilitation process. Team officials remain optimistic that the latest procedure was preventative and designed to improve mobility rather than address a setback.

The Giants still believe Nabers has a realistic chance to return for Week 1, when New York opens the season Sept. 13 on “Sunday Night Football” against division rival at MetLife Stadium.
