Gibbs-White hits season peak with 15-minute hat-trick
Morgan Gibbs-White produced a sensational second-half performance as Nottingham Forest came from behind to beat Burnley 4-1 at the City Ground and take a huge step towards Premier League safety.
Forest went into the break trailing 1-0 and looking short of ideas, but Gibbs-White completely changed the game after half-time. The midfielder struck twice in quick succession before rising to head home his third, completing a superb hat-trick inside just 15 minutes and turning the contest firmly in Forest’s favour.
By full-time, Forest had moved five points clear of the relegation zone - and their No.10 had delivered one of the standout individual displays of their season.
The treble also earned Gibbs-White a place in the club’s recent Premier League history. He is only the third Forest player to score a hat-trick in the competition, following Kevin Campbell in 1996 and Chris Wood, who achieved the feat twice in the last two seasons.
It was also the fastest hat-trick recorded in the Premier League this campaign, overtaking Cole Palmer’s 25-minute hat-trick against Wolves earlier in the campaign.

At a time when Forest have needed leaders on the pitch, Gibbs-White has stepped up.
Since the start of 2026, no player has scored more Premier League goals than the Forest playmaker. His seven strikes in that period put him level with Arsenal's Viktor Gyökeres and Chelsea's João Pedro.
Across all competitions this season, the 25-year-old has registered 15 goals and five assists in 48 appearances - a return that highlights just how central he has been to Forest’s campaign.
Gibbs-White’s hat-trick also took him to 12 Premier League goals for the season, making him the joint-highest scoring English player in the division alongside Danny Welbeck.
Despite that form, he has still been overlooked in Thomas Tuchel’s last two England national football team squads - including the provisional 35-man group named in March.
With the World Cup getting under way in June, however, performances like this could hardly come at a better time. If Gibbs-White keeps producing displays of this level in Forest’s run-in, he will be making a very strong late case for inclusion on the biggest stage of all.
