Giggs advocates potential Palmer move to Manchester United
Ryan Giggs has advocated a Manchester United move for Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer this summer.
Palmer has been linked with a potential move to Manchester United in recent months, though distanced himself from a transfer last week.
However, with Manchester United closing in on Champions League football, and Chelsea a chance to miss out, Giggs has said Palmer is the sort of player the Red Devils need.
He said the 23-year-old would ease the reliance on Bruno Fernandes to create chances, when asked by Rio Ferdinand if Palmer would ‘fit the bill’ as a summer signing.
“Yeah he would. Manchester lad,” Giggs said to Rio Ferdinand Presents.
“Where would he play? With obviously Bruno ten, he could play off the right, possibly. We talk about (Rasmus) Hojlund and (Benjamin) Sesko… it’s only really Bruno who is creating things time and time again. What if Bruno has a bad day? Or he’s injured? You need three or four players in your squad who can make things happen, for these players to put the ball in the back of the net.”
Fellow former United player Patrice Evra agreed that Palmer would be a good signing, but warned the pressure of Manchester United is different to any other team.
Ryan Giggs believes Cole Palmer is the type of player Manchester United needs as they approach Champions League football.
While Cole Palmer has distanced himself from a transfer recently, there are ongoing discussions about a potential move to Manchester United.
Chelsea's potential failure to qualify for the Champions League may influence Cole Palmer's decision to consider a move to Manchester United.
