Freddie Woodman is anticipated to remain in goal for Liverpool following an assessment of injured goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili. The Georgian shot-stopper was carried off during Sunday's 2-1 victory over Everton in the Merseyside Derby, but has avoided a serious setback.
Mamardashvili has featured regularly as cover for first-choice goalkeeper Alisson this season, but sustained an injury himself at Hill Dickinson Stadium. He picked up a knee injury following a collision with Beto as the Everton forward slid in to equalize at 1-1.
He was transported to hospital as third-choice goalkeeper Woodman came on to make his 2025/2026 Premier League debut. Mamardashvili has since been discharged from hospital and reassured supporters with an Instagram post on Monday, via The Mirror.

"Thank God everything is fine," he wrote. "Thank you all so much for your support and for being by my side. I'll be back soon."
The Athletic reports that he has a deep wound on his knee and is anticipated to be unavailable for between two and four weeks. Alisson remains absent with a hamstring problem, and that means Woodman will feature for Liverpool when they welcome Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.
Woodman arrived at the Reds from Preston during the summer transfer window and had made just one appearance this season prior to Sunday, featuring in the 3-0 Carabao Cup loss to Crystal Palace on October 29. Following his first league appearance at the weekend, the 29-year-old could potentially be handed starts in the forthcoming games against Palace and Manchester United.
His involvement will hinge upon how swiftly Mamardashvili recovers and Alisson's rehabilitation progress, with the latter eyeing the United game for his return. The Brazilian has endured an injury-plagued season, managing only 34 outings, and hasn't featured since the 4-0 win against Galatasaray on March 18.
"Is there anything that surprises you when it comes to injuries with us this season?" Slot commented on Sunday when questioned about Mamardashvili's enforced withdrawal.
"Maybe I already envisaged it because I had two goalkeepers on the bench today, which I normally don't have but, of course, it has everything to do with the availability of all the other positions.
"Giorgi had to go to hospital with a big wound, so let's see how he will be. Freddie deserves a lot of credit - coming in just after conceding at 1-1 and their fans were ready for it but he did his job really well."
Liverpool are now concentrating exclusively on the Premier League following their UEFA Champions League elimination by Paris Saint-Germain last week. Virgil van Dijk's stoppage-time header secured them local bragging rights and three crucial points on Sunday in the battle for Champions League qualification.
The Reds occupy fifth spot in the Premier League standings, seven points clear of Chelsea, who have now suffered four consecutive defeats.
