The Florida High School Athletic Association's girls lacrosse playoffs begin on April 23 in Northeast Florida, featuring first-round games in Class 2A. Key matchups include Winter Springs at Tocoi Creek and Fletcher at Ponte Vedra.
The Florida High School Athletic Association continues high school girls lacrosse playoffs for Jacksonville and Northeast Florida starting on Thursday, April 23. See previews for first-round games in Class 2A.
All games are as listed by the FHSAA, but are subject to change.
There's no secret about Tocoi Creek's main weapon in the Toros' best-ever season: Ashley Cotter is up to 84 goals and 29 assists. Winter Springs, which has yet to play a Jacksonville-area team in 2026, has two 60-goal scorers in Kendra Huet and Annabelle McGuire. If the Toros win, they would next take on Lake Mary or Navarre.
The Sharks are genuine title contenders based on the FHSAA numbers and have already defeated Fletcher 17-1. Gracie Madson and Ila Crowe are among the top Sharks on the draw control. Fletcher's balanced attack has eight double-digit goal scorers, led by Kannon Cowgill and Avabelle Hubbard.
Bartram Trail's Reya Berkman (6) looks to pass during a game against Ponte Vedra.
Bartram Trail won this matchup 5-2 back in February, and the Bears are even stronger now that Esa Brenneman is back from her key role with Bartram Trail's final-four basketball team. Still, it's a long trip west, and Kaleyah Bussing is coming off a nine-goal game to help Gulf Breeze to a fourth consecutive district trophy.
