The Miami Dolphins selected wide receiver Caleb Douglas with the 75th pick in the 2026 NFL draft. Douglas recorded 877 receiving yards in his redshirt sophomore year and earned second-team All-Big 12 honors.
The Miami Dolphins took a swing on wide receiver Caleb Douglas with the pick No. 75 overall in the 2026 NFL draft.
In his last two seasons in college, Douglas posted 877 receiving yards as a redshirt sophomore and 846 this past year, earning second-team All-Big 12 honors.
The Texas Tech wide receiver has a huge catch radius, standing at 6-foot-3, and he's shown some flashes, but we can't ignore some of the things we saw on tape the past two years.
"Douglas’ focus drops and an inability to win contested catches at a high enough rate can’t be overlooked," NFL draft expert Lance Zierlein wrote.
Douglas possesses some God-given abilities, such as height and speed, that can't be taught. But he hasn't used those to the best of his abilities yet, which could mean his best football could be ahead of him with the right coaching.
However, up to this point, Douglas hasn't proven he could be a reliable starter in the NFL, which is what the Dolphins desperately need.
I was ready to give this pick a B due to the upside the young prospect possesses. However, Chris Brazzell II, a more proven prospect, was still on the board. This past season, Brazzell earned All-American and All-SEC honors, while also taking home the 2025 Biletnikoff Award semifinalist.
These facts were hard to ignore when grading this pick for the Dolphins, but Douglas is young and can develop into a good receiver. He has that Keon Coleman, high-floor/high-ceiling feeling to him.
Final Grade: C+
