The NFL offseason has moved past the scouting combine and the draft and now approaches minicamps. Teams will soon transition into the preseason and training camp.
Before training camp begins, several teams continue to manage injuries to star players and key contributors. The Green Bay Packers, in particular, are closely monitoring the status of a major 2025 trade acquisition.
Star EDGE defender Micah Parsons has been working his way back from a torn ACL suffered in 2025. On Tuesday, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst provided a significant update on Parsonsâ recovery.

According to reports, Parsons is on track to be available early in the 2026 season.
âMicahâs such aâheâs a little bit of a freak. I think some of that has taken over, and heâs doing really well,â Gutekunst said. His comments suggest Parsons is progressing at an impressive pace and could return sooner rather than later.
The downside is that Parsons may not be available for training camp or the preseason. That absence comes with both pros and cons.
However, a player of Parsonsâ caliber does not necessarily need extensive preseason reps. The greater concern will be ensuring he regains full football conditioning as he completes his recovery.

Last August, the Packers acquired him from the Dallas Cowboys. They sent two first-round picks to Dallas and signed Parsons to a massive contract extension.
