Five Scioto County baseball teams are ranked in the latest OHSBCA Poll, with Green at No. 2 in Division VII and Minford at No. 3 in Division V. Clay and Valley also made significant jumps, while South Webster entered the top-12 in Division VII.
For the sixth consecutive week, five Scioto County teams find themselves in the latest Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association Poll.
Green continued to maintain pressure on the OHSBCA Division VIIâs top-ranked team in Calvert with 136 points, while Minford fell just one spot to third in OHSBCA Division V Poll.
Clay (fourth in the OHSBCA Division VII Poll) and Valley (eighth in the OHSBCA Division V Poll) each made significant jumps while South Webster moved its way into the top-12 in Division VII, as 45 percent of the Scioto County schools who are competing this season remain ranked by coaches around the state.
Green, No. 2 in OHSBCA Division VII State Poll (136 points, two first-place votes)
Putting the bow on top of a fantastic SOC I tear, the Green Bobcatsâ baseball program nabbed second place in the OHSBCA Division VII State Poll by collecting 136 points and two first-place votes in the latest version of the rankings.
Now 17-4 on the season, Green holds a team batting average of .314. Gabe Blevins is hitting .441, Riddick Jenkins .417 and Jon Knapp holds a .403 average with two home runs, nine doubles and 29 RBI by himself.
Pitching-wise, the Green staff holds a collective ERA of 1.13. Knapp (7-1, 0.71 ERA) and Blevins (3-1, 0.96 ERA) pace the staff as the duo have struck out 121 batters and walked only 17 between them in 2026.
Minford, No. 3 in OHSBCA Division V State Poll (150 points)
Sitting third in the OHSBCA Division V State Poll, Minford has now outscored its opponents by an 145-45 margin through its first 18 games of the season as of Thursday. The Falcons have won 11 games by five runs or more in 2026 and have scored seven runs or more in 12 contests.
Minford had 14 hits including five of the extra base variety in a 11-1, six-inning mercy rule triumph against Oak Hill, which marked the Falconsâ sixth mercy rule win of the year.
Minford then held Northwest to three hits in a road win, with pitchers Ty Borland and Max Lauder failing to give up an earned run in their win.
Clay, No. 4, 96 points in Division VII
Making another significant jump, the Clay Panthersâ baseball program keeps on rolling, and now holds a 17-5 overall record as it sits inside the top-five in the state.
Evan Rider continues to lead Clay as the sophomore is batting an even .500 for the 2026 season with a 1.318 .OPS. Rider also has 10 doubles, a home run, 16 RBI and 33 runs scored while drawing 18 walks and only striking out five times for the season as well.
Pitching-wise, Rider is 6-3 with a 1.53 ERA and has struck out 63 batters while walking only 17 at the plate.
Noah Woods (.410) and Cade Munion (.407) are also batting above with high marks for Clay in 2026. Woods has a 1.206 OPS while Munion holds a 1.007 mark. The duo are one-two on the roster in RBI as well as Woods has driven in 27 runs and Munion 22. Woods has also drawn 16 walks while only striking out nine times.
Aidyn Schackart (.370), Colby Secrist (.345) and Jackson Hannan (.340) are also enjoying great seasons at the plate while Cayden McKenzie is hitting .375 in 16 contests.
Valley, No. 8, 49 points in Division V
Still sitting in a position to possibly grab a share of the SOC III Championship, the Valley Indians made the largest jump of any team in Scioto County in the latest rankings, rising from 13th in the OHSBCA Division V Poll to eighth.
Now 15-4 overall and 6-2 in SOC III play, the quintet of Carson Powell (.435), Nolan Barnett (.431), Nick Queen (.352), Gabe McNeil (.352) and Colin Greene (.351) continue to swing hot bats for Valley. Powell and Barnett have combined for three home runs and 43 RBI during the season, while the trio of Queen, McNeil and Greene have combined for another 41.
Gabe McNeil (.325) and Colin Greene (.318) have also swung the bat well at different times throughout the season. McNeil had the lone RBI in the fourth inning of Valleyâs 1-0 triumph over Minford on Monday.
Pitching-wise, Barnett continues to throw in a strong manner, as the senior and Rio Grande signee sits 6-0 with a 1.89 ERA. Barnett has struck out 37 batters and only walked 10 in 2026 as the teamâs No. 1 in 2026.
South Webster, No. 12, 12 points in Division VII
On the rise themselves, South Webster now sits 11-6 as the Jeeps carried a five-game winning streak into a contest against Minford, which was held Friday.
Pitching talents Easton Large and Jacob McGraw, along with a consistent batting order that includes Hunter Barnard, Brycin McClintic, Beau Stephens, Pierce Kreischer, Benaiah Andrews, Brayden Barnard, Sam Murphy, Cole Bennett, Large and McGraw, have kept the Jeeps in highly competitive ballgames throughout much of the season.
Green is currently ranked No. 2 in the OHSBCA Division VII Poll with 136 points and two first-place votes.
Minford fell one spot to No. 3 in the OHSBCA Division V Poll.
The ranked teams include Green, Minford, Clay, Valley, and South Webster.
Clay is ranked fourth in the OHSBCA Division VII Poll, while Valley is ranked eighth in Division V.
