The Scotland international left Glasgow after a successful spell that brought multiple trophies, sealing a transfer to Greek Super League side PAOK who were celebrating their centenary celebrations this week.
With the club chasing a potential domestic double, Taylor reflected on his first season in Thessaloniki, pointing to Kenny’s support as an influential factor in his smooth transition.
The former Celtic defender insisted that Kenny’s experience and presence within the squad have been crucial in helping him settle both on and off the pitch.
Speaking via Scottish Sun, Taylor said: “Jonjoe is a neighbour and we car-share to training. He has a young family, too, and we are really tight. It has been vital in terms of helping us to settle.
“He had moved away before when he was playing in Germany. He’s done well, he’s played a lot of games, and we missed him when he was out injured recently. He has a wife and a daughter who is just four or five months older than my daughter. The wives have each other next door, and we’ve been lucky.”
Speaking about his life in Greece so far, Taylor added: “It’s not just been a football lesson, but a life lesson. It’s the first time I’ve moved away from home. I have a young family, the football is different, the culture is different, and the changing room is different.”
“It’s been an amazing learning curve — but I’m really glad I did it. It’s improved me as a person and opened my eyes. It’s a different way of life. We train in the evenings.”
“There’s a Greek core in the dressing room, but we have Serbs and Croats, a couple of Italians, and one Brazilian. It’s a big change from having a Scottish core who are the most vocal.”
Jonjoe Kenny provided support and guidance to Greg Taylor, making his transition to life in Greece smoother after moving from Celtic.

“It takes time to earn respect here, and it takes time to show your true character when it’s not your country and not your language. This season has been about adapting.”
