Guardiola plays down treble talk after Man City reach FA Cup final
Pep Guardiola has played down talk of Manchester City winning a domestic treble despite reaching the final of the FA Cup by beating Southampton.
City came from behind to win at Wembley thanks to goals from Jeremy Doku and Nico Gonzalez.
But having already won the Carabao Cup and currently sitting three points behind Arsenal in the Premier League with a game in hand, Guardiola says it is still too early to talk about a treble.
âItâs too far away,â he said. âBefore the final, before the Aston Villa game, I would tell you it was a chance. Now itâs far, far away.
âNow itâs important we have three days off for the players. I told them, donât think about football, rest. Now we start a season for five games plus the final, the FA Cup. Premier League, I would say itâs almost gone. Now weâre back second. Weâll see how we arrive.
âSix games, like every game we win, weâll be there, we lose, itâs over.

âAlways we were there. Thatâs what I said to the players. Imagine now we start next season and only one team for the next four years will arrive four times in the final of the FA Cup. Apparently itâs not easy.
