Guardiola provides update on Rodri’s injury – and insists Man City are in a ‘more difficult’ position to win the title than Arsenal

Rodri is expected to miss Manchester City’s clash with Burnley on Wednesday in a blow for boss Pep Guardiola.

The midfielder was forced off in the win over league leaders Arsenal on Sunday.

“I think for tomorrow he will not be ready,” Guardiola said on the Spaniard.

“We will see for the FA Cup semi-final against Southampton or in 12/13 days against Everton.”

Defender Ruben Dias is also set to miss out again, Guardiola confirmed.

City can move top of the league with a win over Burnley, but despite having come from behind before in title races with the Gunners, Guardiola insists his side are still in the more difficult position.

“Both teams know what happened in the past, with Arsenal and with Liverpool,” he said.

“Both teams know they cannot lose or drop points. It will be difficult to recover and our calendar is so demanding, especially when the opponents are really, really tough.
