Guest recaps for May are now open, allowing members to cover games from their unique perspectives. Interested participants can sign up by commenting with their chosen game date.

Every weekend throughout the regular season, we open the doors of the âPit to any member as a guest recapper, who can cover the game from their own unique perspective. You do the recap of the game in the Feed, however you want. It can be light-hearted or not; stats-heavy or not, detailed or atmospheric â itâs all about your own voice. One of the editors then takes it, adds the bells and whistles like roll-calls and Fangraphs and it will appear on the front page of the SnakePit. Weâll be on hand to help if you have questions on the day.
This is open to everyone: lurkers, commenters or writers elsewhere on the âPit who fancy their hand at recappage. [Itâs how quite a number of regular writers here got their start] The Sunday game will be the default one, but it may vary on odd occasions. To sign up, just post a comment, with the date of the game you want to cover. When I spot them, Iâll cross the games off the list. Youâll then get an email, a day or so before, with details. If you havenât done it before, you need to reply at that point, confirming youâre still up for it. I tend to have more faith in repeat recappers!
To sign up, simply post a comment with the date of the game you wish to cover, and you'll receive an email confirmation before the game.
The available games for guest recapping in May include matchups against the Chicago Cubs, New York Mets, Colorado Rockies, and Seattle Mariners.
After signing up, you will write your recap in the Feed, and an editor will enhance it with additional features before it appears on the front page.
