Guilford football standout Keysan Taylor will announce his college choice this weekend, narrowing it down to three SEC schools: Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky. Ole Miss and Vanderbilt had strong seasons, while Kentucky struggled but had some notable wins.
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) â Rockfordâs most heavily recruited high school football player ever has narrowed his choices down to three colleges. Come Saturday, weâll know which one it is.
Guilford junior edge rusher Keysan Taylor says heâll reveal his choice then. He tells me that the three schools that have made his final cut are all SEC schools: Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and Kentucky. Ole Miss and Vanderbilt are coming off outstanding seasons last fall. Ole Miss went 13-2 including two wins in the playoffs against Tulane and Georgia.
Vanderbilt just missed out on a playoff spot. The Commodoresâ record was 10-3. They went to the Reliaquest Bowl where they lost to Iowa.
Kentucky went 5-7 last season, 2-6 in the SEC. The Wildcats posted notable wins against Auburn, and Florida. They took Texas into overtime before losing.
Taylor would fit in well in any football teamâs defense as a big, athletic edge rusher. Last fall as a junior at Rockford Guilford, he had 68 tackles and 6.5 sacks. He was named first team All-NIC-10 at defensive end.
Taylor has been recruited by virtually every major football program in the country including the two schools that played in the national championship game last season Indiana and Miami.
