Hansi Flick has been urged to tweak Lamine Yamal’s position for Barcelona’s crucial Champions League quarter-final second leg against Atletico Madrid next week.
Barca head into the game 2-0 down and in need of a sensational comeback to knock out Atletico and make it to the last four of the competition.
Yet Flick has issues in attack with Raphinha still out and Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres both struggling for goals.
Former Barca wonderkid Jean Marie Dongou has told Gerard Romero on his Fanzone show that it’s time to move Yamal into a more central role for the game.
“I think we can come back. I trust because we have Lamine Yamal, so I trust to turn it around,” he said.
“He can’t play close to the wing. He has to start playing inside,” he added. “He stagnates playing there on the wing.
“He [Flick] has to look for solutions. If Lamine Yamal plays on the wing, there will be no options for a comeback.”
Flick has used Yamal centrally at times this season but it remains to be seen how the Barca boss will line up his team for the game in the Spanish capital.
