After Bayern Munich beat UCL giants Real Madrid in the second leg of the quarterfinals, Real Madrid were quick to make their disdain public regarding the referee’s performance.

Slavko Vinčić was the man tasked with refereeing the second leg, and he ended up giving Eduardo Camavinga a second yellow card that changed the dynamic of the final minutes.

Harry Kane made sure to let the media know that he wasn’t buying any of Madrid’s antics after the match.

Real Madrid have a history of pressuring referees regarding calls that go against them. Last season, Madrid threw into chaos the Copa del Rey final preparations by launching a campaign on their in-house TV channels directed towards the referee assigned to the match, showing that they have no issue criticizing refereeing performances.

Once the final whistle blew, a chunk of the Madrid squad crowded the referee, which led to Arda Guler getting sent off.

Kane’s comments reflect a mentality shared by many of Madrid’s rivals, questioning Madrid’s perception of referees and their bias for or against them.
