Hearts missed the chance to extend their lead over Celtic after a 1-1 draw with Motherwell. They remain four points ahead of Celtic, who will play Rangers next.
Hearts squandered the chance to move six points clear of Celtic in the Scottish Premiership title race after being held to a 1-1 draw against Motherwell at Fir Park.
Their lead at the top of the table stands at four points ahead of Celtic hosting Rangers in the Old Firm, live on Sky Sports on Sunday.
If Celtic fail to beat their rivals, Hearts will have the opportunity to end the 66-year wait for another top-flight title when they face Falkirk on Wednesday.
Early nerves from Derek McInnes' side were evident on the evening and Motherwell capitalised on that tension when Stephen Kingsley bundled Emmanuel Longelo's cross into the back of the net to tempt yet another twist in the title race with two games to go.

However, as he so often does for his side, Lawrence Shankland stepped up in front of goal to poke home a crucial equaliser just before the break.
Stephen O'Donnell thought he had restored Motherwell's lead but celebrations from the home side were cut short by the offside flag, after replays showed he had drifted behind the defence before Ibrahim Said's shot fell into his path.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Hearts are currently four points ahead of Celtic.

For the fourth consecutive game in a row, it looked as if Hearts would have the chance to complete the comeback when referee Steven McClean was advised by VAR to look at the monitor after Alexandros Kyziridis went down in the area from Tawanda Maswanhise's challenge.
However, after reviewing replays and only seeing minimal contact on the boot, the referee opted to stick with his on-field decision of no penalty.
"Derek McInnes will be absolutely fuming when goes in and sees that penalty incident back because it was a stonewaller," said Kris Boyd regarding the incident. "It is a penalty kick all day long."
Hearts continued to push for an all-important winner but were forced to settle for just a point on the evening, with all eyes turning to Sunday's developments at Celtic Park.
