Prout's Addie Daigle
After finishing 11th and earning a Second Team selection last season, Daigle jumped up six spots with a 34.750 finish in the All-Around this winter. Daigle, who attends Prout, snagged an 8.725 on beam to grab sixth place in the event. The Prout/Exeter-West Greenwich co-op finished runner-up in the team event in Division II.
Gianna Desmarais, Cranston West gymnast
It was Desmarais’ All-Around title to lose and she wasn’t going to let that happen. She capped off her second of back-to-back individual titles with a stunning floor routine that landed a 9.550 and the top All-Around score of 36.575. Desmarais, who led Cranston West to the Division II team title, also won bars (9.100) and vault (9.525) at Rhode Island College. The junior can make it a three-peat next season.
Middletown's Maya Ferris
Ferris made quite the leap in her sophomore season with the Islanders. After finishing 10th as a freshman, Ferris grabbed runner-up honors in the All-Around (35.625). She starred with a pair of second-place finishes in bars (8.700) and beam (8.825) and a third-place spot in floor (9.250).
West Warwick's Abigail Mandeville
Mandeville made her way to Rhode Island College to do one event better than anyone else. And she did just that. An 8.850 landed the West Warwick gymnast the top placement in the event and a spot on The Providence Journal All-State First Team. She’ll be back next season to defend her crown.
Mt. Hope's Kate Pisasale
Consistency keyed Pisasale’s second straight First Team All-State selection. The junior finished third overall in All-Around again with nearly the identical score of 35.500 and was one of a few Mt. Hope gymnasts that led the Huskies to a state championship victory by more than six points. She placed runner-up in floor (9.275) and vault (9.325) and grabbed fourth in bars (8.500) to round out the individual performance. Pisasale also had made the All-State Second Team as a freshman and aims to close out her career with more honors next winter.
Mt. Hope's Elle Rodrigues
Rodrigues rounds out the stunning cast of gymnasts from Mt. Hope. The sophomore returned from an injury and grabbed a fourth-place finish in the All-Around competition (35.325). She placed in every event, including a third-place finish in bars (8.600) and led Division I in All-Around as the Huskies eased to the team crown.
