Brighton secures a 3-0 victory over Wolves, enhancing their European qualification chances!
North DeSoto's Luke Delafield was named MVP of the 2026 1-4A All-District baseball team, hitting .411 with 30 RBIs. Braden Jones was recognized as pitcher of the year, while Northwood's Nathan Cervantes earned hitter of the year honors.
North DeSoto rolled all the way to the LHSAA Non-Select Division II quarterfinals and managed it with several talented athletes who found their way to the 2026 1-4A All-District team.
The league coaches voted Northwestern State football signee Luke Delafield as the most valuable player after he hit .411 with 30 RBIs and 31 runs scored. The senior also was 9-2 on the mound with 55 strikeouts and a 2.55 ERA. The Griffins’ Braden Jones was named the pitcher of the year after he went 4-0 on the mound with 47 strikeouts and a 2.65 ERA. Jones also hit .396 with six home runs, 27 RBIs and 33 runs scored.
Northwood junior catcher Nathan Cervantes disrupted the Griffins’ run on top awards by being named the league’s hitter of the year. Cervantes hit .442 with 11 doubles, 12 home runs, 29 RBIs and 37 walks.
