It’s team time on the PGA Tour, as they head to New Orleans for the Zurich Classic. This is the ninth year this event has been played with two-man teams. A reminder that rounds one and three are four-ball. The second and third rounds are alternate shot.
Teams are playing for the overall $9.5 million purse with the winners each taking home $1,372,750 for a victory. Ben Griffin and Andrew Novak are defending champions.
There are two teams in particular that are of interest. Brothers Matt and Alex Fitzpatrick are playing together. Matt has won twice this year on the PGA Tour, including last week in a playoff over Scottie Scheffler at the RBC Heritage, and Alex captured his first DP World Tour title in March at the Indian Open.

Brooks Koepka and Shane Lowry is the other team. Lowry and Rory McIlroy have played together the past few years, winning two years ago and finishing in a 12th-place tie last year. But McIlroy told Lowry he couldn’t fit the even in his schedule this year so Lowry went for another multiple-time major champion in Koepka.
Now, two weeks after the Masters we start the ramp up to the PGA Championship. The Cadillac Championship is next week at Doral, then the Truist Championship is at Quail Hollow before everyone heads to Philadelphia for the PGA Championship at Aronimink.
